Kickstarter project - 'Sundays'
PostPanic launch crowd-funding appeal for Sundays project
14 JUNE 2012, AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS JUNE 2012
Summary
Director Mischa Rozema’s film project Sundays looks to the Kickstarter creative community for help.Faced with a choice of following traditional film investment opportunities or using Kickstarter to enable them to keep going themselves and retain more creative control over the project, PostPanic stayed true to their unorthodox, creative attitude and chose the latter. The result, a much more risky path (with the majority of budget coming from PostPanic and raising the remaining amount via Kickstarter) but with a promise of a surprising and original take on a much interpreted film genre. (Kickstarter is the world's largest funding platform for creative projects and has an excellent track-record for raising funds from it's community for new film projects.)
With continued worldwide success of their previous short film, Year Zero (made for Barcelona’s 2011 OFFF Festival), Mischa and his team are planning to replicate many of the production and post methods used within Year Zero, for use on Sundays. PostPanic require additional funds for filming in Mexico City and this is where they have turned for help to the crowd-funding community. They are looking to raise 50,000 US Dollars.
You can read more about Sundays on the Kickstarter page which goes live tomorrow for a period of 30 days. Interested supporters can donate money in return for rewards which include limited prints signed by Mischa Rozema and some very-hard-to-get-hold-of PostPanic t-shirts.
